The City of Saints movement was born during a moment of quiet adoration on a pilgrimage to Rome. St. Philip Neri desired to be a missionary who would go to the ends of the earth to proclaim the Good News of Jesus, but the Lord called him to stay in Rome and dedicate his life for the conversion of the local church. Neri followed the Lord’s call and help transform Rome into a city of saints in a time of turmoil in the Church. Inspired by this great saint, City of Saints LNK seeks to help all of us to become saints right here in Lincoln, Nebraska, so that this too will be a city of saints.
A new kind of community
Joining City of Saints LNK is a simple promise to live out 3 pillars in accord with one’s state in life: prayer, works of charity, & intentional evangelization. These pillars will look different for each person, but the universal call to holiness is the same. Joining the City of Saints movement will also give you access to monthly resources on prayer and evangelization through an electronic newsletter and a online community that reminds all of us that we’re not pursuing holiness alone. In person gatherings will take place in the near future. Stay tuned!

The 3 Pillars
COMMITMENT TO PRAYER
Prayer is as necessary to the spiritual like as air is to our bodily life. While prayer can take different forms and is unique to each person, a simple rule of life helps us to stay accountable to prayer. Joining CoS means a person commits to 20 minutes of prayer daily, one Holy Hour per week, and attending Sunday Mass plus one daily Mass each week. 
SHARING THE GOSPEL
Sharing the Gospel should naturally flow from hearts in love with Jesus. Yet in the busyness of life, it is easy to lose sight of our call to intentionally share the Good News. This pillar reminds us of this call. It doesn't have to be to the masses, indeed it often won't be. Following Jesus' model, we are invited to share the Gospel with those closest to us and to those whom God puts in our path. This can be our co-workers, family, friends and the stranger encountered on the streetWORKS OF CHARITY
Jesus is clear that whatever we do to the least, we do to Him. The call to encounter the poor and vulnerable isn't optional for a disciple of Jesus. To reach those on the margins with the love of Christ is part of the Christian call. This can take the form of serving at a non-profit, being generous with our material means, or simply promising to smile at every person with whom we cross paths.
